14/48 – The World’s Quickest Theater Festival
The World’s Quickest Theater Festival Returns to Vashon
On January 24th an 25th, over 40 island and off-island artists team up to test their improvisational and creative skills when everything from themes and props to directors and cast are all drawn from a hat and the clock begins to tick. Welcome to 14/48, “The World’s Quickest Theater Festival.”
How does it work? On Thursday, 14/48 participants choose a theme by completing this sentence: “Theater would be a lot more interesting if there were seven ten-minute plays about _____.” In the following 48 hours, directors, writers, actors, and designers join to create spontaneous theater. The result? Lightning in a bottle.
Watch the miracle of theater emerge in a wild whirlwind of stage alchemy. Yes, it’s as madcap, unexpected and sometimes absurd as you’d expect… you won’t want to miss it.
Seattle-based 14/48 Projects is an internationally recognized organization that has left audiences surprised and delighted since 1997. This year’s festival marks the fourth year of the Vashon Edition.
