Harbor School’s 18th Annual Benefit
A celebration in support of our students and programs
VOYAGERS AUCTION is Harbor School’s biggest event of the year – as a community celebration and fundraising benefit. A fun-filled social gala that brings together Harbor School families and friends throughout our community, the auction is held to raise muchneeded funds to support the students and programs at Harbor School and Carpe Diem. Specifically, a large portion of the proceeds directly benefit our Financial Aid & Scholarship programs – allowing us to continue to offer an exceptional educational experience for all families who wish to attend Vashon’s independent choice!
Voyagers Auction will be hosted by Kevin Joyce and Martha Enson of EnJoy Productions. The event will be held at Open Space for Arts & Community in their newly remodeled space! Voyagers Auction includes a silent auction to showcase our Student Art Projects, a live auction and sit-down dinner provided by The Hardware Store Restaurant, as well as a paddle raise. Our popular ‘Voyagers Game Wall’ is back and guests will have the opportunity to ‘pay to play.’ So, pick up a dart, take aim, and pop the Voyagers Pack balloon to win your prize! Everyone’s a winner with prizes filling the packs ranging from $25 gift certificates to prized merchandise!
Voyagers Auction tickets are $50 per person with alumni tickets only $25 each. Admission includes dinner and drinks. Tickets may be purchased online at www.harborschool.org.
Each year, the Voyagers Auction committee chooses an event theme that is befitting of the school and our island. This year’s theme is ‘Oh, the treasures you’ll find!’ Imagine beautiful seashells washed ashore, found objects along the beach – sea glass, moon snail shells – or making a fort out of pieces of driftwood as you catch the whales swimming by Point Robinson. Student Art Projects will all be inspired by this theme.
NEW THIS YEAR: Voyagers Auction will feature a pre-event ONLINE AUCTION starting March 9th and closing on March 23rd. Countless auction treasures will be up for bidding and everyone in our community, including our alumni families far away, are encouraged to participate. Final bidders will have the option of collecting their winning items at the Open Space on Saturday night, March 24, at the conclusion of the Voyagers Auction.
To kick off the ONLINE AUCTION and help promote Voyagers Auction, Harbor School will be part of the First Friday Gallery Walk on March 2. Thanks to the generosity of Donna Kellum (of Frame of Mind) and gallery sponsor JR Crawford of Windermere, Harbor School will be displaying student art creations and other fantastic auction donations – original art, experiences, island flavors, unique gift baskets and much more! We’ll open up the storefront at 9926 SW Bank Rd (next to Café Luna) on Friday, March 2, for everyone to drop in and see the wonderful items available to bid on. Voyagers Auction items will remain on display through March 23. Harbor School is committed to making independent education accessible to a broad range of families.
