The Tempest – Vashon Repertory Theatre Fest
At the close of a dramatic year for our nation and our community, Vashon Repertory Theatre (VRT) is putting the drama where it belongs this summer — on the stage.
Vashon Theatre Fest (VTF) opens Thursday, July 22nd with family-friendly outdoor performances at various Island locations, including Ober Park, Open Space for Arts & Community, Vashon Center for the Arts and Snapdragon café.
The Tempest
Written by William Shakespeare
Directed by Darragh Kennan
Shakespeare’s story of an exiled ruler who uses magic to restore his daughter to power argues that the powerful must show mercy. First performed in 1611, The Tempest explores the consequences of European settlement in the New World. VRT’s version of this epic tale will take new twists and will tell the story in a way you may not expect.
