UMO Ensemble joins veteran Seattle writer Scott Bradely and multiple guest artists in "A Kingdom Jack’d" , a timely and wickedly funny piece.  What if the kingdom’s greatest fool became king?  In a court of jesters, the loudest liar wears the crown in this bawdy, irreverent alternate-history take on Shakespeare's Henry IV.

A Kingdom Jack'd is a satirical, alternate-history play based on Shakespeare's second tetralogy. It opens in 1399 England, following the deposal of Richard II and what should have been the coronation of Henry IV. Instead, political machinations have thrust the clownish rogue Jack Falstaff to the throne. With his band of cutthroats running court and the Lancasters reduced to rebels, Britain descends into chaos. The country's only hope lies with Eastcheap prostitute Doll Tearsheet, who joins Shakespeare's other tertiary female characters to establish a new order.
