Triple distilling is a hallmark of Irish whiskey and it leads to a cleaner, smoother dram, compared with other malt whiskeys like scotch, which are generally double distilled.
Meet the Whisky:
Bushmill’s 12 Year Old Single Malt (courtesy of Kelly Godell), finished in Bourbon, Sherry, and Marsala casks. 80 Proof. Triple Distilled in a copper pot still from 100% unmalted barley, then some spirit aged in bourbon casks and some aged in sherry casks for over 11 years, then combined and aged together in Marsala casks for 6-9 months.
