Flashback Friday: Catch Us While You Can- 25 Years Making Art on Vashon
Catch Us While You Can- 25 Years Making Art on Vashon was a month-long, multi–media celebration of art and music by Vashon Islanders who have shaped the Island art scene. During September, 2018, more than 70 Island 2-D and 3-D artists exhibited their works, a piece from past and present at Open Space.
The festival included 4 free salons from artists that covered stories and topics related to self-reinvention, changing mediums, art shows, advocacy, and much more. The salons, which took place throughout the month, were hosted by Penny Grist and Larry Muir, Peter Serko, Valerie Willson, Don Cole and Joan Wortis.
Musical acts included main stage or acoustic sets by Kat Eggleston, One More Mile, Portage Fill Band, John Van Amerongen, Bob Krinsky, The Spotlights, High and Lonesome, Subconscious Population, Sinner & The Saints, Bob Kueker, Mary Litchfield Tuel, Chuck Roehm, Mike Shapiro plays with Fire, Catbird, RiverBend, Loose Change, Some Hat, John BrowneLoren Sinner with Bob Goering.
In addition to Open Space, community sponsors include VIVA, Vashon Events and 4 Culture.
