Open Space for Arts & Community is proud to welcome Civic Rep

This year, Civic Rep Theatre ensemble has begun a “residency” at Open Space for Arts & Community. Their first production here, Dragon Country, opens November 8. This is an important milestone for Open Space and a key partnership that all of Vashon will enjoy.

Who is Civic Rep?

Civic Rep is dedicated to the art of theatre. They are committed to the craft and practice of compelling and intimate storytelling. They seek to contribute to the cultural life of our community with work that is accessible, relevant, and engaging.

What do you mean by “residency?”

In the same way that artists sometimes are in residence, arts organizations can be as well! Our shared values and love of theatre and performance made this a natural fit for bringing vibrant and interesting theatre to Vashon.

When will they start?

The first performances at Open Space for Arts & Community begin November 8 – 18, with Dragon Country—four short plays by Tennessee Williams.

Here are the plays in the performance

The Lady of Larkspur Lotion
Directed by Michael Barker

I Can’t Imagine Tomorrow
Directed by L. Zane Jones

Something Unspoken
Directed by Charlotte Tiencken

A Perfect Analysis Given By a Parrot
Directed by Elizabeth Klob

Please join us in welcoming Civic Rep to our community. We hope to see you at Dragon Country!
