Last month, Open Space for Arts and Community was gifted an AED (automated external defibrillator), a life-saving piece of medical equipment that will now be kept in easy access within our facility. The gift was a donation from Vashon’s Patricia Toovey.
“I am part of the MRC/CERT crew that opened and runs the Covid-19 test site at the O Space. From day 1 when I called David and Janet to ask if they would consider hosting us we have been warmly welcomed by your entire staff. Any needs we have had have been filled, problems solved and a wonderful relationship established. You are all about community and so are we.
I was gifted a brand new AED by a family friend who works in the medical field. They figured CERT could use it in our cache of supplies. Cert has wanted to say THANK YOU to the O and this seemed like the perfect continuation of the circle of gratefulness. You will be opening up again with audiences. Having an AED is another way to take care of our community. I am so pleased to pass this on to you. It is a gift I hope you never have to use.” – Patricia Toovey
