Open Space for Arts and Community hosts Up Up Up Inc. Crane Truck Circus Show on July 18th
What do an opera virtuoso, a 99-year-old flying piano, a human ceiling fan, and the world’s largest wedgie have in common? For one day only, they will be on stage as part of the Up Up Up Inc. Crane Truck Circus Show outside at Open Space for Arts and Community. Enjoy the acrobats, live music, illusions, and many other circus feats to leave your jaws dropped, your heartstrings plucked, and your belly’s aching with laughter on July 18th at 6pm.
In this 1-hour-long show, you’ll be razzled & dazzled by the music, strength, movement & comedy of Up Up Up Inc.’s all-star cast of circus artists. This event is suitable for all-ages and is mostly word-free.
Up Up Up Inc. is a touring circus ensemble with the mission to spread the joy of circus through shows at outdoor gatherings, small farms, refugee & immigrant communities, neighborhood block parties, youth empowerment organizations, women’s shelters, and more. They believe that circus shows should be accessible to anyone and everyone, regardless of money.
“It’s an absolute thrill to be able to host a new, exciting, and fun group like Up Up Up Inc.” says producer David Godsey. “They have completely embraced the tradition of wandering performers. Their unique show is a perfect fit for all ages within our community.”
Up Up Up tours with a flatbed truck to serve as a stage, a baby grand piano for live music, and they have mounted a 30’ hand-cranked crane on the truck to serve as an aerial rigging point and point of interest for other shenanigans. The members of Up Up Up Inc. who don’t fit in the truck tour on bicycles to reduce emissions and increase the fun.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and stake out a cozy spot for you and your pod. Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for youth and are available online at OpenSpaceVashon.com. The event begins July 18th, 6pm at Open Space for Arts & Community. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. Please, leave your pets at home.
