Aerial 1 /1.5
Summer students will continue to build on skills they've developed in previous aerial classes including skill building, strengthening, and conditioning. In addition, students will learn exciting new moves from guest instructors! Students will be introduced to different apparatus and focus more on control and technique.

Aerial 2.5 / 3
Aerial 2.5/3 is for more advanced students who are ready to learn more intricate or dynamic sequences on the silks, dance trapeze, lyra and rope.

Aerial Intro
In this class students will learn to climb, do foot keys and develop the proper body form to build strength to climb and do tricks in the air. Students need to be good listeners and have a good sense of focus for this class in order to safely learn aerial.

Aerial Tumblers
We will learn some fun basics on aerial sling and general tumbling as well as gaining the strength, active flexibility and mental focus required to move on to Aerial Intro. Students will learn body shapes like plank, hollow body, tuck, pike and straddle, as well as how to safely hang and invert. We will begin with gymnastics games and then focus on tumbling skills including front and backwards roll and cartwheels. We will learn a few basic aerial tissue climbs in prep for aerial intro.

Create Your Story
UMO School has built a unique teen theater development program called Create Your Story at Open Space. Teen students engage in UMO’s devising methods and tools of physical storytelling. With the guidance of UMO teaching artists, they will create their own story, over the course of a 2 week camp and perform it live for friends, family, and community members at the ORBIT Teen Center on Aug 1, 2025. Teens who are interested in theater tech are encouraged to participate. They will be mentored in their area of interest.

Jiu Jitsu and Judo
In the first session we will cover the underlying self defense and competitive objectives of Jiu Jitsu and its branching disciplines, namely Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), and Mixed Martial Arts. All three disciplines have a common focus on standing takedowns, securing control of an opponent who is on the ground, and ultimately finishing with a submission technique. This course will teach the basic technique and execution of Jiu Jitsu takedowns, pinning technique, and safe practice of submission moves. All levels and experience are welcome.

Parkour Basics & Tricks
Students will learn the foundational movements of parkour through a series of fun games and obstacle courses. These games teach safe movement techniques while helping students develop strong social emotional skills of cooperation, teamwork and leadership. In parkour games students develop balance, strength, discipline, self confidence, and leadership. Bring loose clothing and be prepared for a fun challenge!

Parkour Games & Obstacle Courses
Students will work on the foundations of parkour through a series of fun games and obstacle courses combined with basic parkour moves and freerunning. Bring loose clothing and lots of energy!
